Washington Concert Opera

Based on the legendary tale of the scholarly Faust’s pact with the Devil, Gounod’s loveable opera continues to transfix music lovers throughout the world. While many other composers found the legend of Faust worthy of their attention, whenever the subject of Faust is broached, it is Gounod’s opera that comes to mind. It is an opera literally overflowing with famous arias, choruses, and instrumental numbers. And who better to bring that music to life than Antony Walker and the WCO orchestra and chorus and a spectacular cast composed of the finest interpreters of the music? Gounod’s Faust will be interpreted by Amanda Majeski (Marguerite), Charles Castronovo (Faust), and John Relyea (Méphistophélès), Philip Cutlip (Valentin), Leslie Mutchler (Siébel), Aleksey Bogdanov (Wagner) and Kyle Engler (Marthe).
